We did some renovations to our house. The renovations involved packing everything up from our bedroom and bathroom, and of course unpacking everything at the end.
Friends, I have a problem. That problem’s name is Perfume.
I started this blog in 2011. I became pregnant shortly afterward, and I found that I could no longer bear the thought of smelling anything—perfume made me sick. That was 9 years ago. Since then I’ve written about one new fragrance that I’ve tried, but I haven’t really considered coming back . . .
. . . until now. Upon unpacking just the bedroom, I found that I have over 40 bottles of perfume. I haven’t even started unpacking the bathroom yet. I don’t know how much I’m going to end up with. I’m not even counting the samples. And I don’t have anywhere to put them.
I’m considering something. I’m considering giving each fragrance one last hurrah, then passing it on to a new person, someone who will enjoy it and give it its proper respect. Some of these perfumes are rare; some are cheap; some are challenging. Most are boxed, while some are not—but I hope each will find a home.
I think there are some restrictions. For example. I’m pretty sure that I can’t post perfume to the USA. I’m also going to have to keep a handful. I can’t imagine my life without Coco, or Samsara, or Patchouli by Reminiscence, or my last ever bottle of Lily and Spice, or Amaranthine . . . ok, you can see my problem.
My first giveaway: I’m going to make it easy on myself and give away something I’ve already written about: Gin Fizz. Are you interested? Let me know in the comments below this post; I’ll choose someone and pop it over. (Over time I’ll try to keep these giveaways as fair as possible.)
